It’s March, so what better to post than some images of college basketball?
I shoot a lot of local sports for news print through out the year, but the Marist College basketball games are consistently one of my favorite events to cover. The college is relatively small, but the energy at the games is fantastic and it’s always a blast to cover. Games usually start at 7 p.m, and when shooting for news print I have a 7:30 deadline. That means shooting the first few minutes of the first half and then quickly uploading the images to my laptop to edit and upload them as quickly as possible. Despite having the images I need all wrapped up by the half, I have never once left one of these games before it was over. I shoot until the very end of every game and love every second of it.
The women’s team had a perfect MAAC season with an 18-0 record and will go on to play their first conference championship game this Friday. The men’s team will play the first round game against Siena in an attempt to secure a spot in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Best of luck to both teams as the championship kicks off.
Below are some images from the home games that I have covered this season, enjoy!
